“Why did you kidnap my sister?” asked Cydonia as she raised her sword up, ready to slash the villain’s throat wide open.
“Keh! Like I, Harkan the Terrible, should answer to one who is about to be dead! Worry not, your screams shall delight these halls until your very last breath! This way, you can be proud to have been of some service to one as great as me!” he replied arrogantly right before he cast a fireball at her.
Cydonia barely managed to block it with her shield. Upon impact, splinters came off of it, and the shock coursed through her hand, ending with a painful throb in the bruise on her back. With a groan on her lips, she lowered the shield and looked at her opponent. The mage seemed pleased with himself, showing her a wide smirk.
“Tch.” she clicked her tongue and clenched tight on the hilt of her sword.
My inexperience and foolishness with his underlings caused me to get injured, and now I risk facing my own death at his hands if I do not act carefully. she thought as she glared straight into his eyes.
“Give up, woman!” said Harkan, putting a strong accent on the last word to belittle her.
Without a second thought, she got up and dashed towards him, sword pointed forward, ready to pierce his evil heart, but he dodged at the very last moment.
Oh, no… she thought.
“Die!” shouted the mage as he activated a magic circle under her feet.
“ARGH!” Cydonia screamed as she felt a powerful zap of electricity coursing through her body.
The proud Seraphim fell right into his trap, and now she suffered dearly for her mistake.
I’m not… going… to die… here! she thought as she clenched her jaw, and with whatever strength she had left, she jumped out of the pillar of energy.
“You won’t survive, woman!” said Harkan the Terrible, already feeling the sweet taste of victory on the tip of his lips.
