The thrusters under the ship and in front of it were turned on, stopping the perilous descent. Now all the AI had to do was bring it back up into orbit.
“Ship stabilized, resuming planetary low orbit.” said the AI.
Hearing that, Feya let out a sigh of relief.
“Good SAIL!” she said patting the monitor.
“Master Feya, it appears that our main thrusters have been severely damaged, and I detect multiple hull breaches. The emergency inner shields are able to maintain a proper atmosphere, but under these conditions, it is impossible to travel to another planet, let alone a system.” reported the AI.
“Feya understands. What can Feya do?” she asked as she looked over the schematics and data displayed by SAIL on the monitor.
“Planetary scanning sensors and teleporter have not been damaged. It may be possible to retrieve basic resources from the surface, which I can then turn into temporary replacement parts.” explained the AI.
“Sounds like good plan, but Feya has a feeling there’s a but.” she said.
“We require core fragments for the repairs of the thrusters or the materials required to artificially make some.” replied the AI.
“Floran not like heat. Make petals itchy.” she said but then let out a sigh. “Do it. Scan planet. Tell me if Feya can find core fragments or materials for them.” she said.
“Affirmative. Beginning scans.”
“Good! While SAIL do that, Feya take nap. Wake Feya up when done.” she said as she laid down on the cold floor and closed her eyes.
In but a moment she was already fast asleep, tired from everything she went through.
