Ugh! I’m so tired! she complained, but she didn’t let it show on her face.
Cydonia stepped into the merchant’s store and unloaded all of her loot on his table.
“You want me to buy all of these, Sword Sister?” asked the man, who knew well most of the people in their small community.
“Yes, please.” she replied with a smile.
The merchant didn’t take long to appraise them and while he did that, she took a look around at his own goods. She picked up a few healing potions, a better belt, and for a moment even pondered about getting herself a new sword, especially since her usual one was chipped and the edge started to turn dull. It could last a few more battles, but that would probably be it.
“Here are your coins!” the man said once he was finished.
“Thank you, and I’ll buy these potions and this belt. Is the large backpack over there on sale as well?” Cydonia would ask.
The merchant turned around to see what she was talking about. He picked it up and returned to the counter.
“Yes. Would you like to buy it?” he asked.
“Of course. Deduct it from the coins you owe me for the other goods.” she said.
“Very well, Sword Sister!” he said and then started counting.
A few minutes later, Cydonia walked out of the shop with a new belt, and a few potions in her pouch strapped to it. Now, she was all set to head off to the Bellevue town, although she would have rather spent a few hours resting her body on a comfy bed.
Guess I’ll find an inn after I meet with Commander Romata. I kept him waiting long enough. she thought as she made her way to the fast travel portal.
“Take care, sister Cydonia! May the gods favor you!” said sister Nimues when she passed by her.
“Thank you, sister!” replied the Seraphim with a small bow of her head.
In but minutes, she found herself in front of the monastery portal. It was the best way to reach the Bellevue garrison, without traveling on foot for more than two hours. Of course, they could have used it earlier to request reinforcements from the garrison, but the thieves were smart enough to block their access through. Now that Cydonia defeated their leader and killed most of them, the portal was safe once more to be used.
