I heard you had a fight with Archangel Raziel. said Archangel Metatron as he landed next to me.
His wings flapped to more times before he folded them nicely on his back. As usual, his blinding light made me squint my eyes.
Sort of… I replied.
You know, I could easily find out what happened or you could tell me. he said and turned down his light.
He took a seat on a cloud next to me. Sometimes, I wondered where the interior decorator angel was. All I could see was an endless field of clouds and light. A sofa and a TV to watch the latest games wouldn’t be that bad although I would probably know who would win before the game even started. Then again, I can’t get drunk in this form, so I can’t enjoy a beer.
I let out a sigh.
You see, a human uploaded two pictures of kittens on the Internet. I picked the fluffy brown one, he picked the fluffy white one. We couldn’t decide what kitten looked the best with a pink plush unicorn next to it, so we played chess… I won. I replied and then rubbed the back of my neck.
Technically… you are the archangel of war and strategy. noted Metatron.
I simply shrugged and looked to the left.
He’ll live. I said.
Indeed, no archangel or angel holds onto the concept of revenge. said Metatron.
Don’t I know it? I laughed and then continued with the definition of revenge Revenge can be described only as the act of chaotic thoughts, which bind with no logic into the current mind. The origin of those thoughts is darkness and nothingness, while the result is death and chaotic. It blocks off anything else and just moves on a path unknown and filled with lack of caring. In my life as a zar’tar, I learned what it means and by passing through it, I learned how to spot it! I tasted the venom and learned the consequences. I can say that I was lucky because what I suffered was little compared to what others usually pass through to learn this lesson… Still, I didn’t learn how to get rid of it in that life. I couldn’t, that’s why no matter how much Elshra begged me to stay with her and be careful, I didn’t listen and so, I died.
Unfortunately, there are many souls who still need to learn it. Many of them continue to believe with stubbornness that revenge must be taken in some cases. said Metatron as he looked up at the divine light covering us.
You know just as well as I do, how wrong it is to think like that. In one’s life, they can find MANY things they can take revenge for. They vary from the smallest of reasons to the most savage ones. The trick is learning to spot it before it becomes too big and does too much damage around you and then completely remove it. I said, offering some of my knowledge earned by passing through many past lives. However, I doubted he wouldn’t know of it already.
How? he asked me just to strike up a conversation.
The answer to that is simple. We forgive them… I answered, and it was that easy.
During that life time as a zar’tar, I learned many other small lessons and began to learn other ones as well. Usually, a soul doesn’t learn an entire lesson in only one single life time unless they are an old, advanced, and experienced one who can accept the change deep within itself. Most souls just keep on stumbling over and over those small lessons in each reincarnation they go through until they finally learn everything they need. Once that happens, they begin to find out strange things about it.
I just remembered something. I said as I opened up the cloud underneath us so that we could see the life of a certain man.
Who is he? asked Metatron.
One of the many on this beautiful planet, but what is interesting about him is the very fact that he already learned the lesson of revenge. And now, he will stumble upon it once more. What do you think will happen? I asked, but I was certain he knew the answer.
If I were to guess, and I am good at that, I would say that he won’t feel the need to take revenge anymore. Instead, he will feel the need to forgive or simply not act at all. He will do this despite being told by almost everyone that he should or must take revenge. Even if he will be directed towards this act because it is not his lesson to learn anymore, he will not go through it. Furthermore, his guardian angel and other entities will help him get out of the situation without taking revenge. However, if he stubbornly wants to do it, despite all of those signs, he will find out that upon acting, he felt nothing, almost as if there was nothing there to feel. explained the archangel in as few words as he could, without going into the deeper details of that specific situation. In short, he offered a general explanation of the matter.
I couldn’t have said it better myself, and after all… revenge brings nothing and from its destruction, more destruction is born. It doesn’t matter who you hurt and what you destroyed, that energy will be returned to you in one form or another. As they say, darkness feeds darkness. I said as I looked over at the future of that human’s life.
Just as Metatron said, the human refused to take revenge, despite many of his friends pushing him to do it and through that forgiveness, he unknowingly healed some of his own karma and helped his friends take another step forward in realizing and understanding what revenge actually was.
As I looked at that mortal’s life, I remembered the wise words a master from another life told me: “The Universe is filled with strange ways that weave us all together in the same picture. Sometimes, it makes everyone wonder how it all connects so well… It takes only one small pebble to be moved and as a result of that action, the entire universe shifts. That pebble, however, is every one of us. Through these words that I offer you, I am a pebble because from my teachings, some will learn something new, others will confirm their own beliefs, while others will only store the knowledge inside them for a future yet unknown. From this, you, my dear apprentices are the ones who will take the next step and from yours, the entire Universe will shift…”
What are you thinking about? asked Metatron after seeing me in deep thought.
I blinked surprised and then looked at him. He smiled gently at me, and I understood he must have been standing there, near me, ever since I began thinking back at that strange life.
Some memories of the past. I replied to him and then let out a deep sigh. How did you meet your first dragon? I asked him.
By dragon, I presume you are referring to the type of spiritual entity who, at times, takes the role of guarding mortals instead of us? he asked curiously, and I confirmed with a nod of my head and a small smile. He looked up and closed his eyes. With an elegant gesture, he rubbed the tip of his chin and folded his big wings a little bit. After a long moment passed, Metatron looked into my eyes and said I believe it was during a time when I was an apprentice under the old Dragon God of another world in another Universe. He offered me the dragon as a means to guard me from those who would wish me harm. I was a king back then, and a very honest one at that. Not many like me. That dragon saved me more times than I can count!
In mine, I wasn’t a king, but a monk of sorts… Do you want me to tell you about it? I asked politely.
Please do. he told me.
Thus, I began to tell him about my other past life, in which I was a loondr sage.
